GROL: Required by the FCC for anyone who adjusts, maintains, or internally repairs ship, aircraft, or international fixed public-radio transmitters over 1,000 W PEP—think radar technicians, avionics techs, satellite earth-station engineers, and shore-side maintenance crews.
MROP: Needed to operate radiotelephone stations aboard vessels > 300 GT or passenger vessels, and on Great Lakes routes; Element 7 prepares you for Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) duties many employers now expect.
